The name

Hardangergutane has been Epli Sideri AS since 30 May 2024.

We have not bought a bottle. On 28 September 2026 Rhuan said there is no single brand under that name. There are many ciders from the region. He named Aga Sideri, Kvestad Sideri, which is his pick, and Hardangergutane, which he thought had changed its name. He named both sides of the fjord around Odda, Nå, Aga and Lofthus, and Ulvik further out. Kvestad is the shop's pick because he said so. This page did not rank anyone, and it is not a bottle we have tasted.

The Brønnøysund register, read 30 September 2026, organisation number 815 099 982. The company was founded on 4 March 2015. Historical names: Hardanger Eple AS until 7 March 2018, then Hardangergutane AS until 30 May 2024. A name search for Hardangergutane returns no entity. The name now is Epli Sideri AS. The website field still says www.hardangergutane.no. The registered activity is production, distribution and sale of apple cider. The industry code is 10.320, juice, not 11.030. The code is not a sentence that they only make juice.

Their about page, read 29 September 2026: the brothers Kristian and Karl Magnus started in 2015 on the family farm at Sekse, on the east side of Sørfjord, and formed Hardangergutane. In 2021 Inger and Kristian bought a larger farm at Sekse, about 100 metres above the sea. In 2023 Karl Magnus left. In summer 2024 production moved back to Sekse, and the name Epli Sideri appeared. Epli is an old Hardanger word for apple. The register's date is 30 May 2024, which is before summer. Both dates stay.

The address on their page, in the footer, and in the register is Seksevegen 84, 5773 Hovland. HANEN prints Ullensvangvegen 1525, 5773 Hovland, for the same firm. The two pages disagree. The door in this piece is the register and their footer.

The about page says the farm shop is in the new cidery, and it prints no clock. Taste Hardanger prints Monday to Saturday 9–18, and that the cidery was started in 2025 by the two brothers. The about page says 2015, and the register says the company has existed since 4 March 2015. This page does not print Taste's clock, or 2025.

Aga

Two registered entities sit at Aga 73, 5776 Nå.

Aga Sideri AS, organisation number 933 780 929, was founded on 24 June 2024. No historical names. The activity is production of cider and other fruit wine. Industry code 11.030. The articles of association also name alcohol-free drink. That does not put a 0% bottle inside the protected name.

The other is Joar Aga, a sole proprietorship, organisation number 917 872 945, the same address. The firm was named Joar Aga until 20 July 2017, then Aga Sideri until 30 August 2024. The activity now is fruit growing and egg production. Industry code 01.240. From 24 June to 30 August 2024 both had Aga Sideri in the name, at the same door.

HANEN writes that Joar Aga took over the farm in 2018 and established Aga Sideri the same year. That page prints a farm-shop clock: low season, September to April, 10–15; high season, May to August, 10–17. It also prints daily tastings from June to September. It prints no organisation number. Taste Hardanger's Norwegian page prints 10–15, Monday to Saturday. The English page prints June to August, Monday to Saturday 10–17, and September to May 10–15. hardangerfjord.com prints «Åpent etter avtale» and tasting in summer, and the address Aga 73. agasideri.no, fetched the same day, was a Squarespace shell with no organisation number and no clock. The pages do not agree. This piece prints none of the clocks.

The others

These are the firms behind the names Rhuan gave, not every pin on Taste Hardanger's map. That page says 28 cider producers, and that every one has a farm shop. Their front page the same day says 27. This page prints neither count.

Kvestad Sideri AS, organisation number 921 700 881, founded 11 October 2018. No historical names. Reisetevegen 83, 5776 Nå. The municipality number is 4618, Ullensvang. The registered activity is «Produsere og selge sider frå Hardanger.» That is the register's sentence. It is not a reading of a label we have not bought. The protected name, and the classes that start at 3 percent, stay on the designation page.

Their own page, read 29 September 2026: under Folgefonna, about 220 metres above the sea. They write: «Gardsutsaler er åpent mandag - fredag 12-19 og laurdag 12-18. Sundag stengt.» Turn off Fjordavegen at Best Stasjonen on Nå, toward Reiseter, about 2 km, then a sign. Taste prints the address «Kvestad, FV109, 5776 Nå». Their page and the register say Reisetevegen 83. Groups all year by arrangement, about 1.5 hours, at least five people. Their page prints two tasting prices. This page does not.

Lofthus Sideri AS, organisation number 924 487 917, founded 8 January 2020. The firm was Kvelve AS until 30 October 2020. The register's address is c/o Ivar Tveito Eidnes, Lofthusvegen 49, 5781 Lofthus. The activity is «Produksjon av saft og sider.» The articles say «Produksjon og sal av sider og saft». Industry code 11.070 is soft drinks. The code is not a sentence that they only make juice. The HTML of their site, fetched 29 September, did not contain the hours Google's snippet and Taste print. This page prints no clock.

Haust Sideri AS, organisation number 935 104 076, founded 9 February 2025. Fjordavegen 868, 5750 Odda. Odda is the postal place. The municipality number on the record is 4618, Ullensvang, not a separate municipality called Odda. No page of their own was opened. Taste Hardanger says the farm shop is open by arrangement. That sentence is theirs.

Hardanger Saft og Siderfabrikk AS, organisation number 992 282 827, founded 30 January 2008. Lekve Gard, Øvre Lekve 17, 5730 Ulvik. That is the address on the contact page and in the register. The municipality number is 4620, Ulvik. The industry code is 10.320, the same code as Epli. The register writes «Produksjon, salg og servering av mæringsmidler.» The farm shop, from the contact page read 29 September: Monday to Friday 09–17, Saturday 10–17, Sunday closed. The shop page says cider with and without alcohol, and eplemost. Taste prints a window from 15 June to 15 August. This page uses the contact page.

Ulvik Frukt & Cideri, Asbjørn Børsheim, organisation number 983 035 256. Apalvegen 78, 5730 Ulvik, municipality 4620. That is the name in the register, and the same name sits in the history until 25 March 2009, after Asbjørn Børsheim. No page of their own was opened, so no clock.

The print in the shop is the orchard and the fjord, on the mug. It is not a bottle.

We have no physical shop in Odda. What we make is printed to order and sent by post.
