Booked walk
We have seen Folgefonna from the road or from Buer, and we have not walked on the ice. That is Rhuan, 28 September 2026. No guided day, no toll figure from him, and no drive time from Odda.
The day on the ice is the Blue Ice hike with Folgefonni Breførarlag, read 29 September 2026. From 1249 kroner. Daily from the end of May to November, back between 16:00 and 17:00. Children under 10 are not on that daily hike. "From 7" on the same page is the private guide.
The meeting place is the guide shop, Folgefonnvegen 1830, 19 kilometres from Jondal. The toll station is 8 kilometres from Jondal, and the operator writes 150 kroner for a car. The same page calls the place Fonna Glacier Ski Resort. Store norske leksikon, Geir Thorsnæs, last updated 29 September 2025, says the summer ski centre on the northwest edge of Nordre Folgefonna is a ruin, in operation from 1989 to 2024. The article does not say the lift is running. It does not say the ruin and the guide shop are the same building, beyond the name the operator uses.
Søndre Folgefonna is 154 square kilometres, Norway's third largest glacier. The three parts together are about 187 square kilometres. That is the same article.
From Odda
Buarbreen is a different walk. The visitor centre, read the same day, says eight kilometres up from Odda to Buer, the glacier visible from the car park, and a marked path to Buarbreen. That is an outlet of the southern glacier. It is not the Juklavass day, and it is not permission to step onto the ice.

Last day
Fjord Tours, read 29 September 2026, prints the season 23 May to 16 October, and the start is the summer ski centre, 19 kilometres from Jondal. The visitor centre prints daily from the middle of June to September, ages 7 to 80. The same page still says you can ski in the middle of summer, and that a summer ski centre sits on the glacier itself. The operator says the end of May to November, and the price is from 1249 kroner.
The last day is not a date the three share.
Panorama Glacier Hike, from 1190 kroner and 3–4 hours, is on the home page the same day. It is a shorter guided walk. It is not the day this page is.
The drawings in the shop are pictures of the place. They are not a booking.
We have no physical shop in Odda. What we make is printed to order and sent by post.
